La Louve, by Nicole de Vésian is a fairly influential garden in the landscape design world. Nicole was a textile designer in Paris most of her adult life, but at 70 yrs of age she decided to buy property in Bonnieux and start a new career in garden design. She had very little plant knowledge but with her artistic eye she was able to make it a huge success. She lived and worked there for 10 yrs and then sold it to Judith Pilsner. Looking back on it now, I really can't believe I boldly emailed Judith to arrange a visit and she responded in such a welcoming manner. She also told me she was selling the property and it was a good time to visit. My visit was wonderful...the gardens were amazing, and Judith was so eager to tell me which gardens I should see while in the area.
