I have been working on photography while on the trip and thought this would be a cool way to follow my progress and talk about the trip day by day. I will stick with only one shot per day. These are all taken on our Olympus OM-D 5. We only have two lenses with us, the M.Zuiko 17MM 2.8 and a Panasonic 150-300 4.0-5.6 Zoom. The micro 4/3rds format is new to me, but the size of the camera combined with the quality of the pictures made it an easy choice for an around the world trip.

December 11th 2014 - Kommetije, South Africa

It was a slow day yesterday here in South Africa. Other than our hike in the morning we hung around the house and relaxed while the kids studied. It was also a windy day and the surf was up, so I shot some of the waves. I could watch and shoot waves all day. Unfortunately, I can't ride them very well - that would be really cool.
